1. Decide on a theme or plot. Making a film about something you know is a good way to start. To get people to watch, make sure what you know about is the Jonas Brothers, Smosh, hip hop dancing, or scenes from Disney movies set to moody rock.
2. Write the script. Try to make it short because people don't have a long attention span when watching films on the Internet. Each scene is like a party. You wouldn't want to show up before the party was exciting, or stay until it's boring. If you've never been to a party, find someone with a birthday and see if you can go to their celebration before you write your script.
3. Make a shot list from your script. If none of the shots are girls dancing go back to step 2.
4. Find actors. Craig's List is a great resource to find people. And remember, who says you have to decide if it's an audition or a date?
5. Find a place to shoot your film. Your apartment can be a million locations. Shoot towards the computer it's an office. Shoot towards that plant and it's a jungle. Shoot towards your sleeping girlfriend and people might actually watch.
6. Gather props. Mad props yo.
7. Film your movie. Don't forget to make it lookly visually stunning.
8. Edit your film. If you don't like the footage you have, put in a clip from Star Wars or Harry Potter. In fact, you probably should only use clips. Hollywood is much better at this than you are.
9. Label and upload your video. Remember to use exciting tags and a good title so people will click on your video. It counts as a view even if they are mad at you for lying about content.
10. Do it again. The world needs more videos about cats and stuff.
